Dalston Western Curve, London

Taylor Wimpey East London have appointed Bennett Construction Ltd as Main Contractor on this project. The project is being carried out on a Design Build basis with the existing design team being novated to Bennett Construction Ltd.

This project involves the construction of 106 apartments and ground floor retail space at Dalston in the London Borough of Hackney. The project is split across 2 sites (separated by Kingsland High St) and is built over a railway tunnel. This involves significant technical challenges in obtaining technical approvals and permissions to work over a live railway environment. The logistical challenges are also significant given this busy London location and will require interface with Transport for London, The London Borough of Hackney, London Overground and the Metropolitan Police in order to manage traffic movements efficiently and with the minimum of disruption to the roads network or neighbours.

The project value is £18 million and will be completed over 2 years.

We are delighted that the Dalston Western Curve project won an International Safety Award with Merit in 2015 from the British Safety Council.
