The works consisted of the fitout of an existing grey box on level 4 of the Beacon Hospital into a mix ot 2 bed and 3 bed wards, isolation room and ancillary accomodation.
This project demonstrates the ability of Bennett Construction Limited to deliver a fit out in an occupied builing where noise, dust and phasing we of paramount importance to ensure the continued safety of the occupants.
The floor was directly over a live ICU floor and methodical planning and management of the fit out was required to ensure that exising Hospital services were maintained at all times. Considerable out of hours works were reuquired to ensure material delivery and service tie ins did not disrupt the existing services and occupants.
All required control measures were put in place for the control of dust and to mitigate the risks associated with Invasive Nosocomial Aspergilosis.
The linking in of the new M&E and gas services to the existing services formed part of the scope and our on site services coordinator managed this element to great success.
