The project involved the construction of a new steel framed production plant and ancillary buildings with additional high specification office accommodation. Contained within the new plant were a series of category one clean rooms with associated gowning and service areas. In addition to the main buildings, Bennett also constructed ancillary workshops, plant services buildings, and a new substation. Extensive roadworks and landscaping (which included a pedestrian bridge over an adjacent river) were also carried out. All work had to be carried out without any disruption to the existing production activities; which necessitated close coordination with the Client throughout. The new plant was ultimately joined to the existing plant over a series of weekend and holiday periods and also involved night time handovers of areas to suit the Client requirements.
