Logistics Manager
The role
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager who will be responsible for all logistic processes on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Checking deliveries against paperwork and delivery dockets to ensure materials are delivered without damage or discrepancies.
- Ensuring that delivery drivers follow safety protocols, such as wearing PPE and maintaining their trucks properly.
- Verifying that all equipment used for offloading materials has the necessary certifications and safety documentation.
- Keeping track of the stock of block and brick materials on-site, highlighting shortages or excesses.
- Supervising the allocation and use of laydown areas by contractors, taking action if materials aren't being moved as needed.
- Managing traffic marshals, forklift drivers, and coordinating with the crane team, including tracking hours and breaks.
- Ensuring that all plant and equipment (e.g., forklifts, hoists, generators) are properly maintained, checked, and serviced as needed.
- Ensuring the safety and compliance of all lifting equipment, in coordination with the crane supervisor.
- Collaborating with scaffolding and crane supervisors to plan and coordinate deliveries to the necessary locations.
- Managing logistics elements like walkways, access points, waste disposal, and attending daily briefings with managers and supervisors
- Overseeing the care, maintenance, and replenishment of company materials, temporary electrics, and tools
- Monitoring and reporting when cleaning materials and other supplies are running low.
- Recording and documenting various checks, such as meter readings, fire point checks, power, and lighting checks, for compliance and tracking purposes.

- Reporting to Site Management and attending daily briefings
You will need
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role working on a large construction project
- Ideally have a proven track record working for a main contractor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- IT Literate
