  • All UK Sites Switch to HVO Bio Fuel

This month, Bennett made the decision to switch to Hydro Treated Vegetable Oil Bio Fuel (HVO) instead of diesel across their UK sites.

Joint Managing Director, Paul McGee said “This is a positive milestone and another step in assisting to achieve our carbon reduction targets”.

The clean, sustainable fuel has a similar chemical composition and performance as regular diesel, but it is fossil-free and reduces greenhouse gas (CO2e) emissions by up to 90%.

For every 1,000 litres of diesel burned, 3.6 tonnes of greenhouse gas CO2 is produced, compared to just 0.195 tonnes GHG CO2 for every 1,000 litres of HVO burned.

It’s renewable and sustainable: synthesised from waste fats and vegetable oils, therefore recycling food waste in addition to eliminating up to 90% of greenhouse gas emissions and reducing NOx, PM and CO emissions.
