Bennett are delighted to announce that we are currently the preferred bidder on the RCSI's new project "Project Connect".
The project consists of the construction of a new 6 Storey building above ground and 2 storey below ground for the Royal College of Surgeons on St. Stephen’s Green of circa 13,000m2. To facilitate the construction of the new building the existing Ardilaun Block A is to demolished as part of this contract. The Ardilaun basement carpark and substation to the rear of No. 26 York street is to be demolished and reconstructed to a revised layout and to accommodate the main sewer diversion across the site and construction of a bike garage at L-1. The Demolition and enabling works scope has been tendered by the RCSI in April 2020 and it is intended to appoint the preferred tenderer as a domestic subcontractor to perform the works described in the documents.
The development will consist of the construction of a building of varying heights from five to eight storeys (including setbacks) (with roof top plant) of 10,339 sqm gross floor area (including roof top plant of 74 sqm) over lower ground floor (1,420 sqm) and basement (1,585 sqm) levels. The development will also include the provision of: a ground floor level entrance lobby to No. 26York Street to its south elevation (12 sqm); a second floor level link connecting the new building to second floor level of No. 26 York Street; and an ESB substation and security hut to the rear of No. 26 York Street at Cuffe Lane.
