The site was located in the centre of Reading approximately 400m from the rail station and along a busy retail street. The logistical challenges were immense given the location and traffic restrictions and therefore meticulous pre-planning and effective communication with all stakeholders was vital to ensure the success of this project. Off-site construction techniques involving the use of pre-fabricated bathroom pods and light gauge metal framework for the extension helped to deal with some of the logistical challenges.
