The project consisted of 447 student bed spaces over 102 clusters in 5 no blocks. 

The various blocks ranged from 3 to 6 floor plates above ground and basement plant room below block C.

The blocks were set around internal court yards with selected hard & soft landscaping. 

The envelope consisted of a Steel framed system inner leaf with 150mm cavity closing out with a brick outer leaf with aluminium clad windows and louvered dressings. The envelope overlooking the internal court yards were finished with a mixture of brick, coloured render and zinc finishes.

The building contained 438 pre finished shower room pods with 9no disabled w/c rooms.

The inner walls were mainly fire & acoustic rated partitions which formed clusters. The clusters ranged from 4, 5, 6 & 7 bed spaces with each having a shared kitchen area. The kitchens contained built in units, appliances with dining and rest areas and TV facility.

Landscaping consisted of a mixture of soft and hard landscaping with grassed areas, raised planters, paved access routes, timber & precast conc seats with games areas across three courtyards.

A dry heating system was included with central boilers for hot water. A CHP runs the systems with BMS backup for monitoring. 5 no passenger lifts were installed.
